As part of the World Heritage site of the Jurassic Coast, Durlston Head is a beautiful and important conservation area. The abundance of wildlife is apparent with dolphins often spotted in the bay. Renovations to Durlston Castle finished in 2012 and it is now a heritage centre open to all.
This map lies in the small foyer area where the gift shop and large interactive display of wildlife information can be seen. The map can be touched by visitors, of vital importance to those who cannot see. The detail on the map includes the field boundaries outlined with hedges. Swanage can be seen huddled in the bay below and Durlston Castle itself stands proudly on the promintory. The Jurassic coast is shown with the waves hugging the cliffs.
On the map are a series of lights which you can select. They show a series of walking trails in the area.
