Oklahoma became the 47th state in 1907. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of statehood, the Oklahoma Centennial Commission sponsored the placement of numerous two and four-faced centennial clocks throughout Oklahoma. It is enjoyable to spot one of these clocks as you travel the state - some in large towns and some where you least expect them.

This clock is erected on the northeast corner of S. Walker and S.W. 25th Street in south Oklahoma City. Its four faces have Arabic numerals and the words "Oklahoma Centennial 1907-2007". The clock is painted black and is mounted on a post, which stands on a three-foot high brick pedestal.

On the south side of the pedestal is a black granite plaque expressing gratitude to the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and numerous sponsors who made the clock placement possible. A small plate fastened to the post indicates the clock was manufactured by the Verdin Company, Cincinnati, Ohio.
