Visitors to Veterans Memorial Park will be welcomed with a Blue Star Memorial Highway marker that stands near a sidewalk that leads visitors to a prominent Veterans Memorial dedicated to all the local military servicemen and women who've defended the United States of America in numerous conflicts over the decades. The Veterans Memorial is a round gazebo of inlaid commemorative bricks of names of many servicemen and women and which tour of duty they were a part of (my late grandfather has a brick at this memorial). I will waymark this Veterans Memorial soon and provide a link to it here.
Veterans Memorial Park is a nice park for out-of-town visitors to stop and take a quick break from their travels and enjoy the nearby Veterans Memorial, a steam locomotive, which is a waymark and Lake Ewauna, which has three fountains that shoot up from the lake near a marina/boat launch.
The Blue Star Memorial has another plaque located at its base the reads:
In honor of
MRS. VERNE I. BRADER
STATE PRESIDENT
1959-1961
As a lifelong resident of Klamath Falls, I can say that this Blue Star marker existed before the nearby Veterans Memorial was erected, which was about seven years ago.
