I located this benchmark after finding it on a topography map and listed as BM 88. This reference disk is located on the SW side of Dot Martin Bridge that spans the Chetco River. This is a NGS benchmark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1988 1.4 KM (0.85 MI) SOUTH FROM BROOKINGS. 1.4 KM (0.85 MI) SOUTHERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 101 FROM THE POST OFFICE IN BROOKINGS, IN TOP OF AND 0.2 M (0.7 FT) WEST OF THE EAST END OF THE SOUTH ABUTMENT WALKWAY OF A HIGHWAY BRIDGE SPANNING THE CHETCO RIVER, AND 7.1 M (23.3 FT) SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE SOUTHBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY. THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH THE HIGHWAY.
