Kwik Trip is a major convenience store chain that operates throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. Focusonenergy.com writes that "Since 2006, Kwik Trip has completed more than 335 energy efficiency projects at over 200 of its Wisconsin locations. Its efforts have saved more than 4.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 1,600 therms of natural gas—enough energy to power 415 homes for a year. The gas and convenience-store chain has also reduced its peak electric demand by 450 kilowatts."
As part of their energy initiative, all new Kwik Trip stores conform to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building standards.
The Kwik Trip 622 project (LEED-NC Retail v2009) was a complete rebuild of the original store. The completed store is located at 16 Second Avenue NW in Byron, Minnesota just off Highway 14.
