This trailhead is located on the one-way gravel Parson Branch Road located at the end of Forge Creek Road. Check with the Cades Cove Ranger Station to be sure the road and trail are open (storms can cause washouts and drop trees on the road) and be very sure that you want to travel the road. There is no turning around and coming out the wrong way. Four-wheel drive is recommended, a high clearance vehicle is just about required.

Gregory Bald Trail is 4.4 miles long one way. It connects Parson Branch Road out of Cades Cove to the Appalachian Trail at Doe Knob. It is the shortest trail to Gregory Bald, the home of wild azaleas in the spring.
