The tiny community of Rome is in the sparsely-populated high desert in southeastern Oregon, USA. Rome is on US Highway 95 just west of where the highway crosses the Owyhee River. The town is named for some interesting geological formations called the "Pillars of Rome," found nearby. The community contains a store, behind a "Rome Station" sign, and "Rome State Airport."
