This brickway, with two paths, leads to the Franklin County Veterans' Memorial. The Memorial has separate panels that list the names of the Franklin County residents who have given their lives in america's Wars & Conflicts - the names are separated by conflict. The middle panel has carved the Seals of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Merchant Marines, Coast Guard & Seabees surrounding an inverted rifle with a helmet resting on the butt of the rifle. The verse - Greater love hath no man than this. That a man lay down his own life for his friends. John 15:13
I am unsure as to how additional bricks are added to the brickway. My best guess is that there are currently 500 bricks engraved in both walkways. I randomly selected a brick for further study. Pvt. Jim Spooner 1st Bat 15 Inf. I didn't find information on Jim Spooner.
