I located this benchmark after looking on a topography map and seeing it listed as BM 51. This benchmark is also in the NGS database and is in excellent condition.

DESCRIBED BY US FOREST SERVICE 1941 1.0 MI S FROM GOLD BEACH. 1.0 MILE SOUTH ALONG THE OREGON COAST HIGHWAY (U.S. 101) FROM THE POST OFFICE AT GOLD BEACH, CURRY COUNTY, AT THE RANGER STATION, ABOUT 100 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO THE OFFICE BUILDING, AND IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE FLOOR. A UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE STANDARD DISK, STAMPED N 466 1941.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1988 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A NEW TO REACH FOLLOWS. 1.7 KM (1.05 MI) SOUTHERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 101 FROM THE COURTHOUSE IN GOLD BEACH. ADD--28.7 M (94.2 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY.
