At Oklahoma State Fair Park, east of the space needle, the City Arts Center has its offices and studios. Addressed as 3000 General Pershing Blvd., the center is open Mon-Thurs 9am-10pm and Fri/Sat 9am-5pm. (405-951-0000). The center has art exhibits, gives lectures, conducts adult classes and youth art camps.
This sculpture is outdoors, on the east side of this building. It is constructed of flat steel bands curved and placed to represent a buffalo. The sculpture is mounted on two metal poles which have various metal circles and pipes. One pole is supported by three metal legs; the other by four legs. The buffalo is painted blue and purple, and the support poles have red, yellow and green paint also.
The sculpture is standing on a concrete slab. There is no plaque indicating its name or creator.
