The New Redmond Hotel was billed as the finest hotel east of the Cascades. Room rates ranged from $1.00 to $2.50 per day. The original Redmond Hotel, a 1906 two-story building, burnt to the ground in 1927 after a massive fire that destroyed more than 2 blocks of the downtown core. The 43,500 sq. ft. hotel was designed by Bend architect Hugh Thompson, and constructed for $150,000.
