Placement Information: This time capsule was placed by the Oregon Christian Convention in 2002, in commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the first meeting of the Restoration Churches in Oregon in 1852. The capsule is scheduled to be opened in 2102.
The capsule is located on the grounds of the Oregon Christian Convention, near the southwest corner of the Turner Memorial Tabernacle.
The Oregon Christian Convention holds their annual convention on these grounds The annual meetings feature preaching, music, special guest speakers, missionaries, and opportunities for groups to meet and give reports of their work. The property was donated to the Christian Association of Marion County by the Turner family in 1878 in memory of their parents and town founders, Henry and Judith Turner.
