The first German settlement in the Auroraville area began following the civil war. Most of the settlers shared the Lutheran faith and families worshipped in each other’s homes.
In 1887, seven charter members and their families organized as the congregation of Immanuel Lutheran church and built this wood frame structure as the first church. A larger church replaced it in 1908. Then the building served as a parochial school for grades 1 to 8.
As one of the oldest structures in Waushara County, it now serves as a museum for the church and the community.
