Gumtown Park was established in the later part of the twentieth century as a gathering place for residents of the Redbank Valley to hold community events and festivals, especially for the local chamber of commerce.

The park was founded by community benefactors Gene and Norma Reichard, who owned the Gumtown Company Store, which they named the park for.

The park has a playground, sports court, a stage for community events, plus plenty of open space for those festivals.
