The City of Kinston and the County of Lenoir operate the Neuseway Nature Center, Planetarium and Campground located at 401 W. Caswell Street, Kinston, NC 28501. The park offers a nature center with assorted animals, a climbing wall, planetarium, playground, miniature train ride and fossil digging area for children, river and pond fishing, hiking trails, picnicing, and riverside swings.

The Neuse River is accessible for fishing, kayaking, canoeing and boating.

The campground offers about two dozen shaded full hook-up (water, sewer and electric) sites with Wi-Fi for the 2012 rate of $12 per night. Primitive tent camping sites are also available.

Park staff, Park Rangers, Kinston Public Safety Officers (police) and Sentinels (police volunteers) often visit the campground and are friendly and helpful.

There are numerous Geocaching, Waymarking, and Letterboxing sites within the park and surrounding area!

Be sure to check-out the photo gallery for this site. You are encouraged to post photos of things you found interesting about this park and campground.

For more information about this park, call (252) 939-3367 or visit www.neusewaypark.com/nature.html.

Be sure to visit King's Buffet for a real down-home, southern-style, inexpensive meal. Other nearby attractions include the Confederate States ironclad CSS Neuse which was recovered from the Neuse River and its' full-size replica, a Civil war battle driving tour, and much more. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce for more ideas.

I live in another state and have made it a point to visit Kinston once or twice a year since finding this campground on the Internet in 2009. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. Enjoy!
