February 2019 - It has been reported that when the Transportation building was torn down, this locomotive was moved to the Oklahoma Railroad Museum at N.E. 36th and Grand.
The AT&SF Locomotive 643, along with its coal car and a caboose are located within a courtyard that has a doorway access. We have found the doors locked, and unlocked, on subsequent visits, and are uncertain what times the courtyard is accessible.
A bronze plaque is attached to the cowcatcher which reads:
SANTA FE LOCOMOTIVE "643"
Originally Built by the Hinkley Co. in 1879
As Steam Locomotive No. 73
It was a 4-4-0 Type and
Named "H.C. Harden".
Rebuilt in 1897 by Santa Fe to a 2-8-8 Type and
Re-numbered 833.
In 1900 it was Re-numbered 643.

On the right front of the locomotive, a circular metal tag reads: "BUILT BY A.T.&S.F. R(?) CO. / JULY / 1879 / TOPEKA SHOPS". A second tag (photo shown in gallery) cannot be fully deciphered but appears to read: "THE SUPERHEATER CO. / SUPERHEATER PATENTED IN U.S. (followed by several numbers and dates). On the undercarriage, various markings show "780" and "NATIONAL COILED SPRING / Pat'd / Apr 23, 1907 / Jun 16, 1914".
A coal car attached at the rear of the locomotive is painted "SANTA FE".
