This large concrete mural by artist Robert Oldrich was installed soon after the Glenbow Museum opened their new building, in 1975. It consists of three panels. The leftmost panel seems to be about Alberta's past, with a camp circle of tipis for the First Nations, and wagon wheels to represent early settlers. A chinook arch and mountains are other recognizable motifs.
The center panel seems to be about Calgary and Alberta's present. A man wearing a cowboy hat, bolo tie, and western belt buckle is on the left. The central part is clearly a reference to the Calgary Tower, just a block away from the Glenbow Museum, and there is an oil drilling rig on the right.
The right panel is probably about the future. A man and woman hold hands on the left, while a disembodied head gives a mysterious message in the center. On the right, another human figure is shouting or singing.
