The co-ordinates given are for a point just to the south west of the bridge. There are footpaths under the bridge so the structure can be photographed, in safety, from a number of angles.

The bridge crosses the road in a generally north-south direction with Catford Station being just to the north of the bridge. The bridge has a vertical clearance of 15ft 09in over the road so most normal high vehicles, such as double decked buses, can safely pass beneath it. The girders are supported by the walls of the old arched bridge and some columns that also serve as a barrier between vehicular and foot traffic.

The girders are used by pigeons as testified by the amount of guano on the footpaths so not a bridge to linger under!
Bridge Type: Girder

Bridge Usage: Railroad

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
