One can read in the information board:

«Despite the Earth House were not dwellings but cellars, built partly or wholly underground and alongside of attached to house above ground.»

This one has about 2000 years old, and is a well-preserved underground passage, with roofing slabs intact over the large chamber and entrance.

The earth house is maintained by Historic Scotland.
