Shore Lodge opened July 3, 1948, along Shellworth Beach on Payette Lake. The lodge was centerpiece for the next 51 years. The management and shareholders created a resort style lodge that was a cozy and intimate place for locals and tourists, contrasting with the glamor and glitz of the other famous Idaho lodge in Sun Valley. Then it became a private club for almost a decade, to then have it re-opened to the public again in 2008. The rooms are really nice and spacious and the food is stellar! Some of the best food I have had anywhere.


There are 77 guest suites (61 with lake views) with private balcony or patio overlooking Payette Lake. You can sleep comfortably in the king-size bed topped with comforters, down pillows and soft linens. Large bathrooms feature marble countertops, a bathtub and separate glass shower. There is ample room to relax in the fully furnished living room. Each suite has a flat screen TV, in-room refrigerator, safe, iron, ironing board and hair dryer.

There is also a 3-suite Lake Cottage with its own private hot tub and 4-boat dock.
