Sadly, the orientation table has not been treated kindly and has, at some point, been the subject of graffiti and has had labels stuck to it. However, it is still usable for identifying landmarks.
The table is made from stainless steel with the images etched into the steel and outlined with black paint. Stainless steel is a good medium for durability but is difficult to look at in bright sunlight.
The table faces a north east direction along the River Thames so the predominant views are towards the City of London including St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin and NatWest Tower. The Shard and National Theatre are some of the buildings shown on the south side of the river.
Unlike the orientation to the south side of the bridge this one shows a map of the river with the various bridges and major points of interest. It also has a panel giving information about the bridge.
