This Buddha image is considered to be the oldest in the province of Udon Thani (though there is no sign explicitly stating this), over a thousand years in age. It is located adjacent to the City Pillar Shrine, in the government precinct of the city. Praying here to the Buddha will give good luck and fortune in life.

The Buddha image is life-sized, gold in colour, and is housed in a modern and well designed shrine structure. It also seems a popular destination for locals.
