Yes, he is a long way inland and someone has taken his trident. Alternately known as Poseidon in Greek, this is the Roman god, who is known as the brother of both Jupiter and Pluto [also in the skies].

With the trident, he could shatter rocks, calm or provoke the seas, by calling forth storms, and was thought to create earthquakes.
When really angry no doubt.
He is credited with creating the horse.
There are seismographs at the capitol and small quakes have been registered in the area. The city has also had it's share of torrential storms.
Perhaps if it had been mounted higher, the trident would have survived. It is in a very public place and totally as is.

Donated by the Greek Orthodox Community. The trident was an effective fisherman's tool.
