It started in 2003. It occurs in the second half of August and it takes a week. The stage is installed in downtown Faro and it is for free. It has been bringing to Faro folk dance groups from distant and mysterious countries, especially from Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Apart from the shows, which take place in the evening, the festival organizes side activities, like interaction between children and the invited groups, which take place in different spots of the city.
