The church of Sainte Radegonde Cognat-Lyonne is an interesting example of the Romanesque churches of Auvergne. It is also one of the witnesses of the past history of the little town with its famous battle between Catholics and Protestants in January 1568!
The church is of the town eccentric, she is the only remnant of the town destroyed during the famous battle ... This is a lovely Romanesque construction of the XIIth century that has retained its octagonal tower, high gables Auvergnats at the front of the transept and apse trefoil.
Inside, clean and remarkably quiet, you can admire two paintings one representing St. Anthony of Padua with a book in hand, the child Jesus posed above, and the second representing St. Radegonde wife of Clothaire, which dedicated to God after fleeing the court.
