Warnemünde is a busy commercial and cruise port at the mouth of the Warnow River on the Baltic Sea. This former fishing village is a borough of the larger city of Rostock. The residential town of Hohe Düne is about 310 meters across the Warnow River. The nearest bridge across this river is five kilometers to the south. A automobile ferry between Warnemünde and Hole Düne makes frequent crossings, connecting these two towns.
Year round service is offered at 00:15, 00:45, 01:15, 02:15, 03:15, 03:50, 04:10, 04:30, 04:50, 05:10 then every 20 minutes. From May to October the ferry runs more frequently during the day - every 10 minutes from 6.00 am until 7.00 pm.
