The Tangier Island water tower dominates the skyline on this small island. It serves as a marker for boats and airplanes approaching the island. I was with a group doing repair and maintenance at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Port Isobel educational facility. We could see the water tower from there and on our approach.
Tangier is an island and town in Accomack County. Virginia. It has just over 700 residents. Most visitors come by ferry from Reedville, VA or Crisfield, MD and enjoy walking the quiet streets, visiting a gift shop or restaurant, and seeing the well-kept homes. Transportation on the island is by foot, bike, or golf cart.
