In Boston's Financial District is the Minot Building, which has winged Pegasuses within the designs of the chapiters to the corner pilasters on the building.

The Minot Building is at 111 Devonshire Street, across the street from the McCormick Federal Building that faces Post Office Square on the other side.

The pilasters (decorative columns that don't support weight) are from the ground through the second floor. The round columns between the pilasters have more traditional tops and don't include pegasuses. Each face of the pilaster has two of them, coming out of a floral design. You see the front half of these beings, in a fair amount of detail.

The pegasus is an animal found in Greek mythology, and is most famously associated with the story of Bellerophon (Perseus), the hero who battled the medusa and flew with Pegasus to rescue Andromeda from the monster of the sea. The latest movie depiction of this story is 'Clash of the Titans.' Pegasus originally was attributed to a single being, a god whos father was Poseidon. Today, it often refers to any winged horse.
