When walking to the very old stone granite lighthouse in Rose Blanche, Newfoundland you will encounter this dam. It is not a significant engineered structure, but just a retaining wall to hold back the water. Technically the dam is not functional anymore, as its purpose is not needed, and thus the water flows freely from its outlet.
