I read about this weird location on the Weird U.S. website recently.
Being in Lake George for a few days of vacations, I found the exact spot and experienced this phenomenon.
Close to the visitor center, is a huge circle on which is drawn the Lake George in blue.
If you stand right in the middle of the circle, and whisper or shout, you and only you will hear an huge echo.
"Local Indian legend says that it was the spot that an ancient god called Katchalototail had appeared at a long time ago and since then his wisdom still echoes around the lake. Indian gods, spatial displacement, weird acoustics...whatever causes this strange ringing reverberating sound, it is pretty amazing." source : (
