Hi Neighbour Sam - Transcona, Winnipeg MB - Figurative Public Sculpture on Waymarking.com

This statue was created in 1968 as the mascot for Trancona's annual Hi Neighbour Festival. He was originally placed near Regent and Lagimodiere to welcome everyone to the Town of Transcona (before it became a suburb of Winnipeg).
In the late 1980's he was refurbished and placed in front of the new Canadian Tire Store where he became "Canadian Tire Guy" (visit link)
In the fall of 2009, quit working for Canadian Tire, got another makeover and resumed his duties and Trancona's Welcoming mascot.
