This station was originally built by the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway. It is a 1900 Victorian style red brick building in excellent condition. It still serves as a railway station, now being being part of the Arkansas & Missouri line, and it lineage include the Burlington Northern, and the old St. Louis-San Francisco (Frisco) Railway system which built the tracks through the area in the 1880’s. It is also the departure point for the 70 mile round trip, Van Buren to Winslow excursion train trips. The station is also home to the Van Buren Visitor Center.
