This shiny new station is found to the north of the tourist city of Vang Vieng. Perhaps not surprisingly, buses from here depart for destinations northwards. This can be to the tourist destination of Luang Prabang, further onwards China, but also to the small towns and villages along the way.
In design the station has a central core, with ticketing offices, and a waiting area, and is in a wide, paved field. Local buses and mini-vans convey passengers from the city to the station. Tickets can be purchased here, but most seem to be purchased in town.
