This is in the pre security area of Terminal B. It is an invite to visit the California Museum downtown. There are several other interesting displays here.

Sally Ride, California native was one of 8,000 applicants chosen to crew on the Challenger mission. Five were chosen. They trained for 5 years before the event. She flew two missions. Was on the NASA investigation board twice following tragic accidents. She was a Stanford alumni with a PhD (four degrees altogether). Later taught physics at UC San Diego and was CEO of her own company - Sally Ride Science - for educational student programs.
She was born in Los Angeles in 1951 and died in July 2012.
