The Mug House has the unusual claim to be one of the only two licensed premises in the whole of Britain to actually be located on consecrated ground.

The Mug House is an important part of our Claines community. It enjoys a special relationship with it’s closest neighbour, the Church and is supposedly only one of the two English pubs to reside in a churchyard! They share congregations and the Mug hosts “God’s Own Pub Club”, the senior end of the Sunday School which meets there on Sunday mornings.
