On the way to the westernmost point of Czech Republic (visit link) , you will walk around the memorial, which commemorates the existence of the former village Ujezd.

The village disappeared a few years after the end of World War II. The reason was a displacement the original German residents. The new settlement was not planned, and in 1953 the last remnants of the demolished houses was destroyed.

The war monument stands directly opposite the place of former school. The memorial was restored in 1994 after the fall of communism by joint effort of Czech and German citizens.

The change of conditions on the borders of both countries now documents a existence a new Europe Bridge (visit link) .
