The main car park with its new toilet block is across this bridge.
This crossing would have started as a ford of the always slow moving stream. The land around here is very flat and water trickles slowly towards the sea. The bridge would have been narrower than we see today, and without parapets. Evidence for that is seen underneath and by the different stone used.
There is no need to build a high arch as there will never be much water in Middlefield Beck.

Coordinates are centre of downstream parapet.
