This 1997 mural by Rocky Barstad faces the Victoria Park / Stampede CTrain station. It depicts the main entrance to the Calgary Stampede grounds as it was in the 1950's and 1960's.
That entrance was very close to the site of the mural. A small remnant of the wooden "fort" wall that made up part of the entrance (seen on the far left hand side of the mural) is not far to the south of the mural, just past Weadickville.
The mural also depicts the Indian Village (now located next to the Elbow River) and the Stampede Corral building is on the far right hand side of the mural.
The best views of this mural are from the parts of the CTrain station that require a ticket to access: the station platform, and the wheelchair ramp that goes over the tracks from Macleod Trail to the platform.
