Rui Nabeiro was born in 1931, in a humble family. At the age of 19 he assumed the leadership of the family business, and from then on developed the company, expanding the business group creating one of the more important companies in Iberian coffee industry.
In Campo Maior, his born town, he had political functions in the town hall in the 70's and 80's. His group has also supported some educational and social programs, as well as a funding for biodiversity research.
The bronze statue has about 3 meters high, is standing in a marble base. The sculpture is a work of the artist Laureano Eduardo Pinto Guedes, represent the business man in a suit, in this home town overlooking one of the main streets of the city.
