The southern part of forest Hard between Muttenz and Birsfelden is crowded with small canals. They are used to percolate and clean water from the river Rhine to extend the ground water level.
This gauge is located at one of the canals near a hiking path bridge south of the center of the area. The coordinates can only be accessed by foot; the whole zone is free of motorized traffic.
