Just completed in 2011 the new bridge is quite impressive. It is dedicated to the memory of Martin Luther King and is decorated in tributes to him from one end of the bridge to the other. The hand rails have inspiring words cut into the stainless steel in them, each post holding the rails have quotes from Mr. King and the date and place of each. The bridge was obviously made for more than functionality. Its sister to the east that carries the same amount of traffic to the north is nothing more than a flat concrete structure yet it spans the exact same river only a few hundred yards away. It is a very beautiful bridge and about as impressive as one could imagine given the surroundings and relatively short span.
