The 407 Pattana Company bus company runs a bus line between Rayong in south east Thailand to the city of Nong Khai in the far north of the Kingdom, on the border with Laos, ~700kms or so. In the city of Pattaya there is a small bus station for these buses nestled on one side of a petrol station.
The station consists of a line of huts, some small restaurants, with nick nacks on sale. Ticketing can be done here but it is easier to do so through one of the many small travel agencies in Pattaya. The buses used are large and modern, and have a VIP seating option (larger, massage chairs). The full trip costs around $20 and takes 12 hours.
