A white Carrara marble tomb, commemorating Lord Frederick Cavendish, murdered in 1882 in Dublin. Found in open area inside the church, north west corner.

Round the edge of the tomb, in polished marble, is written.
"This memorial is placed here in remembrance of Frederick Charles Cavendish, son of William, 7th Duke of Devonshire, and Blanche his wife, by some of those who knew and loved him. Born Nov 30, 1836. Died in the service of his country, and in defence of his friend, May 6, 1882."

The Cavendish family are local gentry and their seat is Holker Hall.
