DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (JEG) STATION IS LOCATED ON THE TOP OF A LOW HILL, IN A MEADOW, ON PROPERTY OWNED AND OCCUPIED BY MESSRS. BEN AND FRANK MCKINNEY AND IT IS ABOUT 0.1 MILE EAST OF A GRAVELED ROAD, 300 FEET NORTH OF A LINE OF TIMBER, 2 MILES SOUTH OF SLIGO. STATION IS REACHED FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS 68 AND 368 IN SLIGO BY GOING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 68 FOR 1.6 MILES TO A ROAD FORK, TAKE THE RIGHT HAND ROAD AND CONTINUE SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 68 FOR 0.7 MILE TO A CROSSROAD, TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW A GRAVELED ROAD EAST FOR 0.2 MILE, TURN LEFT AND GO ABOUT 150 FEET, TURN RIGHT INTO A MEADOW. PACK EAST ACROSS A MEADOW TO THE TOP OF A LOW HILL AND STATION MARK. STATION MARK IS A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED MYERS 1958, SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS 14 INCHES BELOW THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS ABOUT 0.1 MILE EAST OF A GRAVELED ROAD, 300 FEET NORTH OF A LINE OF TIMBER. REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 1 IS A STANDARD USGS BENCH MARK DISK, SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE SANDSTONE MONUMENT WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS ABOUT 0.1 MILE EAST OF A GRAVELED ROAD, 380 FEET NORTH OF A LINE OF TIMBER. REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 2 IS A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED MYERS NO 2 1958, SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 1 INCH. IT IS SET IN THE NORTH EDGE OF THE LINE OF TIMBER AND IS ABOUT 220 FEET EAST OF THE GRAVELED ROAD. AZIMUTH MARK IS REACHED FROM THE HIGHWAY 68 AND GRAVELED ROAD JUNCTION, AT THE 0.7 MILE MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION TO THE STATION BY GOING WEST ON A GRAVELED ROAD FOR 0.2 MILE TO THREE TRANSMISSION POWERLINE POLES AND AZIMUTH MARK ON THE LEFT. IT IS A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED MYERS 1958, SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS ABOUT 58 FEET SOUTH OF A GRAVELED ROAD, 1 FOOT EAST OF THE WEST ONE OF THREE TRANSMISSION POWERLINE POLES. A 4 INCH BY 4 INCH WHITE WITNESS POST WAS SET 2 FEET WEST OF THE MARK.

From the junction of State Highways 58 and 68 in Sligo, go south on Highway 68 for 2.3 miles to a crossroad. Turn right and go 0.2 mile west on Tower Road to a powerline crossing and a track road left. The mark is about 58 feet south of the center of Tower Road, 16.2 feet southeast of the center of the track road, and 7.0 feet northwest of the west one of two power transmission poles.
