This theater is located in a nice park (Parque do Corgo), in the suburbs of the city. It's a modern building, inaugurated by the prime-minister Durão Barroso in March 2004.
It has two rooms. The larger hall has 500 seats, the smaller hall has 145. And there is an outdoors space with capacity for 700 spectators. Then there is an exhibit room, a bar with gallery and several supporting rooms and studios.
The same building hosts the Museum of Sound and Image.
Although the weekends offer the most interesting programs, every day there is something going on.
