During September 1929, a hurricane (before they start giving them names) hovered over Bahamas causing havoc. (More on the hurricane at the
Wikipedia listing.) A 212-foot steel-hulled steamship wrecked off the north coast of what is now known as Paradise Island where the
Atlantis Casino is located. To avoid causing problems to other ships, the boat was blown up with dynamite, thus the pieces are strewn across the ocean floor.
This wreck was visited during a glass-bottom boat tour which was after views of the fish (and hoping for a shark - but none were seen). Future visits will need similar pictures from a tour or dive.
