Long Description:
Located along the river with poetry and modern engraving, the beautiful monument is honour of all those Kilkenny citizens killed in any war or on service to the United Nations. The memorial was carved by artist Aileen Ann Brannigan. Further information about the trail can be found at www.trailkilkenny.ie.

Who Put it Here?: Mayor David Fitzgerald, the Kilkenny County Council and Borough Council

Description of Memorial:
This is situated in canal square between the bridge and Kilkenny Castle. The lettering is done with color and in contemporary style. The sayings are replicated in Gaelic on the other two sides. The swirls at the bottom are reminiscent of Celtic symbols.
