Long Description:
The memorial has a granite statue of a Union soldier standing at parade rest. He is wearing a long coat and a cap, he is holding the barrel of his rifle in both hands with the butt of it near his feet. The statue is standing on a multi-tiered granite base. The base has bas-reliefs and a simple inscription "1861-1865"
