We came here to discover how hateful our country can be when "threatened," and we left fearing America did not learn its lesson. How can people hate so much? The sole redeaming beauty was the spirit of the people, captured in many photos, including the book Suffering Under a Great Injustice’: Ansel Adams’s Photographs of Japanese-American Internment at Manzanar. Visit the Interpretive Center, see the video, then walk the exhibits. It's powerful, appropriate for children, and heart-breaking. The National Park Service maintains this area.
