This is a cul-de-sac in Phoenix, Arizona named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. There have been several efforts in the past to get a major street in Phoenix named for King, but these have never succeeded. This cul-de-sac represents one small victory. In 1975, residents of the six-house cul-de-sac (originally 11th Place) requested the City of Phoenix rename the street in honor of Dr. King. This is the only street in the Phoenix metropolitan area that bears Dr. King's name.
